TNFD Halloween & Scary Dance Music Party, 10/31/23

Animated monsters dancing

TNFD Party on October 31, 2023, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

What are the odds that the 31st of October would fall on a Tuesday? It’s something like one in seven, with some distribution shift due to the particular leap year cycle. Now you have an excuse to turn off the lights and leave home on Halloween evening. Come eat some sugary treats and dance to some tricky tunes.

There are three disclosed birthdays 🎂 for the month of October: Susan, Sophia, and Debby. We’ll bring some extra-sugary treats🍬 for the occasion along with hot mulled cider, and cold, unadulterated too. ☕

🥸Costumes are optional. Just remember: you have to dance too! 🎃

I have some alternate versions of tunes I’ve been saving up that will mostly be scary for me, because I have to lead revised choreographies to get the music and the dance to play nicely together. I could edit the music, but where’s the fun in that?

TNFD Party Protocol

  1. The 1st rule of TNFD Party Protocol is to have fun.
  2. You are encouraged, but not required, to bring a snack to share of the savory or sweet variety.
  3. You may bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage for yourself or to share (there’s not much participation in such at TNFD, except some around Christmas).
  4. There will not be any major teaching on party nights, but there may be quick instructions for a party dance. For the most part, I’ll just keep spinning the hits with some breaks filled with background/table music for mingling, munching, and merriment, and we will, of course, have birthday singing, when participants have divulged birthdays
  5. Be prepared for non-standard recordings being used for some favorite dances.
