A dance for the Serbia super-duper popular folk song, Ajde Jano. I like to find new bands by searching for Ajde Jano recordings. There are many Ajde Jano recordings that are great for listening, but tend to be too long for dancing or they have some crazy riffs or extreme bouts of rubato.

You can do the prescribed choreography or the more basic Lesnoto/Taproot step, if you wish. This dance is 5 bars and the song is 16 bars, so you just do whatever, whenever!

Traditional Lyrics:
'Ajde Jano, kolo da igramo,
/ 'ajde Jano, 'ajde dušo, kolo da igramo. /

'Ajde Jano, konja da prodamo,
/ 'ajde Jano, 'ajde dušo, konja da prodamo. /

'Ajde Jano, kuću da prodamo,
/ 'ajde Jano, 'ajde dušo, kuću da prodamo. /

Da prodamo, samo da igramo,
/ da prodamo, Jano dušo, samo da igramo. /

Modern Lyrics:
'Ajde Jano, borbu ostavimo...

'Ajde Jano, Puske napustimo...

'Ajde Jano, Srecu Potrazimo...

C'mon (Come on), Jana, let’s dance the kolo.
C'mon, Jana, come on darling, let's dance the kolo

C'mon, Jana, let’s sell the horse.

C'mon Jana, let’s sell the house.

We’ll sell them just so we can dance.

...let’s stop the fighting

...let’s put the guns away

...let’s search for happiness

No one says you have to do Anatol Joukowsky’s choreography, Just the Lesnoto/Taproot will work fine.
