A Frightening Tuesday Night Folk Dancing Party
at the Empire Grange on
October 28, 2025, 7:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Get ready to dance away the evil spirits…or awaken them! I guess it’s really up to your perspective on the matter. We had better just make a party out of it and be prepared for both scenarios! Monsters just wanna mash, or is that mosh? The duality of it all: good/evil. Let’s Party!

🥸Bring a snack/treat to share. Tricks are possible. Costumes are optional. Just remember: you have to dance too! 🎃

Last year, we adopted a new dance just for Halloween—and we haven’t done it since! In that case, get ready for the 2nd annual TNFD Witches’ Dance to „Schüttel deinen Speck” (Shake Your Bacon) line dance. Bring a broom for the occasion. This dance comes to us via the Wolfshäger Hexenbrut coven of witches in Wolfshagen im Harz, Germany, when the veil between the realms is exceptionally thin and magic and spirits flow freely (both kinds).

As usual, I’ll have a couple of demented dance tunes just for the occasion, but they will mostly be scary for me, because I have to do the dance leading to very strange music…

TNFD Party Protocol

  1. The 1st rule of TNFD Party Protocol is to have fun.
  2. You are encouraged, but not required, to bring a snack to share of the savory or sweet variety.
  3. You may bring your own alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage for yourself or to share (there’s not much participation in such at TNFD, except some around Christmas).
  4. TNFD will provide reusable plates, cups, and eating utensils (aka plastic silverware). Please be sure to place those in the dirty dishes tub for washing rather than in the trash.
  5. There will not be any major teaching on party nights, but there may be quick instructions for a party dance. For the most part, I’ll just keep spinning the hits with some breaks filled with background/table music for mingling, munching, and merriment, and we will, of course, have birthday singing, when participants have divulged birthdays
  6. I like to program the entire evening before the party, so if you have requests, get them to me before the party!
