- Moravia is a historical region in the east of the Czech Republic and one of three historical Czech lands, with Bohemia and Czech Silesia.
- Moravia has seen many shifts in external control. In the 20th century, changes happened both post World War I & II, with territorial independence ending in 1928 and political identity in 1949 under Soviet Eastern Bloc control. After the fall of the Soviet Union and the later breakup of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia in 1993, Moravian area remained integral to the Czech territory.
- Moravia may have ceased to be an independent country, but the people and the culture of Moravia are much alive today.
